Eflingu – stéttarfélagi er mikil ánægja að bjóða félagsmönnum og öllum áhugasömum á fyrsta fund haustsins í Gerðubergi næstkomandi laugardag kl. 14:30. Fundurinn hefst með kynningu á verkefninu Fólkið í Eflingu. Í verkefninu varpar Alda Lóa Leifsdóttir, blaðakona og ljósmyndari, ljósi á félaga í Eflingu í máli og myndum og leitast við að upphefja mikilvægi fólksins sem stendur við vélarnar, þjónar, skúrar og bónar og annast börnin, sjúka og aldraða.
Að kynningu lokinni býður Sólveig Anna Jónsdóttir, formaður Eflingar, til umræðu um stöðu og markmið félagsins sem og hugmyndir félagsmanna um kjarabaráttu vetrarins.
Fundurinn er öllum opinn á meðan húsrúm leyfir en Fólkið í Eflingu er sérstaklega boðið velkomið sem heiðursgestir.
Ýmissa grasa kennir á dagskrá fundanna sem haldnir verða í Gerðubergi á hverjum laugardegi kl. 14:30 fram í desember. Þar verður fjallað um hagsmunamál sem brenna á félagsmönnum og sumir fundanna verða miðaðir að tilteknum hópum félagsmanna, til dæmis starfsgreinum eða þeim sem tala ákveðin tungumál.
Boðið verður upp á kaffiveitingar að formlegri dagskrá lokinni en ætlast til að gestir hafi yfirgefið húsið áður en Gerðuberg lokar kl. 16:00.
Streymt verður af fundinum og hann tekinn upp, til að gera þeim kleift að fylgjast með sem ekki eiga heimangengt. Enskri þýðingu á efni fundarins verður varpað skjá jafnóðum.

The People of Efling will kick off Efling’s series of meetings in Gerðuberg
It is with great pleasure that Efling – trade union, invites its members, and everyone else interested, to this fall’s first meeting in Gerðuberg, this Saturday at 14:30. The meeting will start with a presentation of the project The People of Efling (Fólkið í Eflingu) The project, created by journalist and photographer Alda Lóa Leifsdóttir, introduces members of Efling through text and images, promoting the importance of the people standing by the machines, the people waiting tables, cleaning floors, and those caring for children, the sick and the elderly.
After the presentation, the chairman of Efling, Sólveig Anna Jónsdóttir, invites guests to discuss the union’s status and its goals, as well as member’s ideas in relation to the upcoming bargaining this winter.
The meeting is open to everyone for as long as space permits, but the guests of honour – The People of Efling – are especially encouraged to attend.
The meetings in this series will cover various topics and will be held in Gerðuberg at 14:30, every Saturday until mid-December. The meetings will be focused on subjects of interest to Efling’s members and some of the meetings will be especially aimed at specific groups of members, e.g. certain professions or language groups.
Coffee and refreshments will be offered at the end of the formal schedule, but guests are expected to leave the building before Gerðuberg’s closing time, at 16:00.
The meeting will be streamed live and recorded, to enable people who cannot attend the meeting to watch from home. A live, on-screen English translation of the meeting’s content will be provided.
Guests with children can register for child-care in the Gerðuberg Library.
Everyone is welcome for as long as space permits, but people are encouraged to register for the meeting.
