Efling Union invites members to send nominations for delegates to the 43rd Congress of ASÍ, which will be held on October 24-26, 2018.Any interested member is encouraged to send a nomination to the email address efling@efling.is, via phone 510-7500, or coming by at the office at Guðrúnartún 1. Nominations must be sent by 12 noon on Thursday September 20. Members can nominate other members. Please include the following information when sending a nomination:
- Name and kennitala
- Phone
- Email address
- Workplace and/or sector represented by the person nominated (optiona)
- Experience, skills, or other relevant qualifications of the person nominated (optional)
The board of Efling will approve a proposed list of delegates during its meeting on September 20. The proposed list will take into account individual experiences and qualifications but also overall representation of the Efling membership with regard to age, gender, origin, and other factors. The board’s proposed list will subsequently be made available for viewing and the deadline for submitting an alternative list will be September 27.The ASÍ Congress is the highest authority in the matters of ASÍ and is held every two years. Member unions are allowed to send a different number of delegates depending on the membership size of each union. Efling will have 54 delegates this time. A total number of 300 delegates representing wage earners will attend the congress and decide on the leadership and policies of ASÍ.
