Wage Increase for Members Working in the Private Sector

The monthly wage for private sector Efling workers who are paid according to the pay table rates of the collective agreement with Samtök Atvinnulífsins (SA) rises by 24.000 kr. on 1 April, 2020.If the monthly salary paid is greater than that found in the wage table, it rises by a lower amount, or 18.000 kr.Other salary items included in the collective agreement such as fish processing bonuses, are increased by 2,5%.The increases are to be paid with April´s monthly salary at the end of April or beginning of May. The increases will remain for the term of the collective agreement.Efling encourages members to check their employer issued payslips for April and ensure that the increases are paid in full and properly displayed on the payslip.In accordance with the collective agreement, the following will also apply from 1 April 2020:

  • The minimum wage for full time employment (173,33 hours per month or 40 hours per week) for workers aged 18 or over after 6 months of employment with the same company (a minimum of 900 hours) shall be 335.000 ISK.
  • Employees will recieve 51.000 ISK in holiday bonus on 1 June 2020, based on full time employement.
  • Employees will recieve 91.000 ISK as a December bonus no later than 15 December 2020, based on full time employment.
