Efling hosts daytours to Borgarfjörður on August 29th and September 5th of 2020

We’ve started booking daytours. Union members can book one seat for a guest to bring along.The annual daytour of Efling will take place at the end of the summer, visiting Borgarfjörður this time around. Two travel dates are available, Saturday, August 29th or Saturday, September 5th. It costs 6000 kronas per person. Children under 14 years of age travel for free.The trip will start at 8.15 on the dot by the Efling building at Guðrúnartún 1. Travellers should be there at 8am.

  • The route taken runs by Þingvellir and from there it turns onto the road over Uxarhryggir which is a road into Borgarfjörður which is seldom travelled but has beautiful scenery. The stops on the tour will include Reykholt, Hraunfossar, Húsafell, where we will stop to eat lunch, the goat farm at Háafell, Deildartunguhver and Hvanneyri. The trip will then come to an end at the Settlement center in Borgarnesi where light refreshments will be offered and visitors will be able to take a tour regarding the Saga of Egil or the settlement of the country.
  • This is a unique opportunity to go on an exciting daytour, enjoy the scenery and the natural beauty in a storied location with guides.
  • Estimated time of arrival home is in the evening. Please note, especially in case children are to be brought along, that the trip takes about 12 hours.
