What is the social responsibility of pension funds like Gildi? How can general fund members have influence? Why should they not be indifferent?The investment policy of Icelandic pension funds has been the focus of recent discussion, such as during the Icelandair stock offering. Interesting discussion on the responsibility of pension funds also took place at the last Efling council of delegates meeting. Now, general Efling members have a chance to learn about their pension fund, Gildi, at an open meeting of the fund’s representative council on December 3, 4pm. The affairs of Gildi and its investments and stance in these strange times will be discussed.We note that due to disease prevention regulations, a regular meeting can’t be held. It will take place online instead. Access and participation will be made easy. The format will allow written questions to the speakers. The meeting will take place in Icelandic.Further information about the meeting, including a link to the stream, will be published on the fund’s home page a week before the meeting.
