Working women, the women’s movement and capitalism

Efling presents an event at the Gender congress to discuss the condition of working women, the Icelandic women’s movement and its role in improving the condition of working women in Icelandic capitalist society.The event will be an online meeting where Sólveig Anna Jónsdóttir, head of Efling, Jóna Sveinsdóttir, janitor, Sanna Magdalena Mörtudóttir city councillor for the socialist party and Kristín Ástgeirsdóttir, historian, discuss these topics as they relate to the past and present. Fríða Rós Valdimarsdóttir, leader of the education team in Efling, leads the discussion.The Gender congress is a democratic and feminist platform for the public. The congress’ agenda is organized by NGOs and grassroots organizations.The meeting starts at 3pm, Friday, November 13 and takes place in Icelandic.Click here to watch.
