Today, SA brought negotiations with Efling to a standstill. They proved unwilling to approach Efling, even within the framework already negotiated with other unions. Thus, SA failed their responsibility,
SA also went back on its word. They had said the heads of oil companies and Samskip would come to the mediator’s office to negotiate with their workers. SA had promised such negotiations would take place while the strike was paused. A verbal agreement to that effect was made in the presence of the state mediator.
The strike of Efling members in Íslandshótel, the Berjaya hotel chain, Edition hotel and at Samskip, Olíudreifing and Sekljungur resumes at midnight.
