Strikes postponed until midnight Sunday

To facilitate progress in collective bargaining, the negotiations committee of Efling decided to make an agreement with SA to temporarily postpone the current strike actions.

The postponement is until midnight on Sunday night, February 19.

Workers should report to work according to their hiring contract and as instructed by their employer from now until the end of the postponement. Workers are advised to contact their employer to find out at what time they are expected to show up for work.

During the postponement, the negotiations committee will try to reach a contract agreement with SA. Should an agreement not be reached, workers will go back on strike at midnight Sunday February 19.

Efling members are asked to follow updates from the union closely during the next days.

The current strikes are at Íslandshótel, Berjaya Hotels, Reykjavík Edition, Skeljungur, Samskip and Olíudreifing.
