Efling's Purpose and Objectives
The Efling trade union office carries out a wide range of activities aimed at safeguarding members' rights, improving their terms and conditions of employment, and promoting security in the labour market. One of the union's core functions is to protect the interests of its members and provide assistance where there is reason to believe that legislation or collective agreements have been breached. The Labour Rights Department plays a leading role in this work, ensuring that members receive the pay and conditions to which they are legally and contractually entitled.
Member services make up the largest part of the union's day-to-day activities. The Member Services Department provides general information, administers grants and benefits, and delivers a range of welfare services, including sickness benefit payments and educational grants. Significant emphasis is also placed on education and member engagement through the Education and Member Affairs Department, which organises training courses for union representatives and delivers other educational initiatives designed to strengthen and support members. The Vacation Services Department manages the union's holiday accommodation and other leisure benefits available to members.
