Efling Union is calling for nominations for delegates to the 47th Congress of the Icelandic Confederation of Labour (ASÍ), which will take place from 14–16 October. The Congress will be held at Hilton Reykjavík, Suðurlandsbraut 2, and will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 14 October. Efling has 56 delegate seats at the Congress. Full members of Efling may nominate themselves, and the union is now inviting nominations. Nominations can be submitted through the electronic form provided here and must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, 31 August. Nominations for the ASÍ Congress 2026 Delegates will receive a daily allowance for the three days of the Congress. The allowance is ISK 18,100 per day, in accordance with the decision of the Travel Expenses Committee of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs. Efling will reimburse delegates who lose wages as a result of attending the Congress, provided they submit supporting documentation to the union’s office. The ASÍ Congress is the Confederation's highest decision-making body. The Congress elects the President and Central Executive Committee, and considers amendments to the Confederation’s statutes as well as resolutions on its policies. The ASÍ website contains all the main information about the Congress, including the agenda, Congress documents and draft resolutions.
Every year, Efling Union organizes a photography competition among its members. The theme of the competition is vacation in Iceland , so it is ideal to use your summer trip or holiday home trip to capture the moment with your camera. Prize for the first three seats: the seat: 50,000 kr gift card the seat: 25,000 kr gift card the seat: 25,000 kr gift card The photos must be of high quality. Each participant may submit no more than three photos . Submit the photos with information about name and phone number in an email to the address efling@efling.is with the subject „Ljósmyndasamkeppni“ (Photo Contest). Please note that the contest is exclusively open for Efling members . The photos will be used on Efling's media and in Efling's summer houses. The deadline is August 31, 2026. Efling stéttarfélag kallar eftir tilnefningum þingfulltrúa á 47. þing Alþýðusambands Íslands dagana 14.-16. október næstkomandi. Þingið fer fram á Hilton Reykjavík, Suðurlandsbraut 2, og hefst klukkan 10:00 að morgni miðvikudagsins 14. október. Efling á rétt á að senda 56 fulltrúa á þingið. Fullgildir félagsmenn í Eflingu geta tilnefnt sjálfa sig og óskar félagið hér með eftir tilnefningum. Þær má senda í gegnum rafrænt eyðublað sem er hér meðfylgjandi og þurfa tilnefningar að hafa borist fyrir klukkan 16:00 mánudaginn 31. ágúst. Tilnefningar á ASÍ þing 2026 Greiddir eru dagpeningar í þrjá daga fyrir setu á þinginu. Upphæðin er 18.100 krónur á dag, sem er í samræmi við ákvörðun Ferðakostnaðarnefndar Fjármála- og efnahagsráðuneytisins. Fulltrúar sem verða fyrir launatapi vegna setu á þinginu fá það endurgreitt frá Eflingu, sendi þeir skrifstofu félagsins gögn til staðfestingar. Þing Alþýðusambandsins fer með æðsta vald í málefnum sambandsins. Þar fer fram kjör forseta og miðstjórnar auk þess sem lagabreytingar og ályktanir um stefnu sambandsins eru teknar fyrir.
