GRANTS AVAILABLE
Conditions for payment of death benefits:
1. Because of a union member who was on the payroll at the time of death:
- Death benefits for active and paying fund members:
- After 6 months continuous membership.
It is permitted to pay death benefits to the death benefit fund members who fall out of work, are younger than 70 years and leave behind a spouse and children. Paid death benefits to active and paying fund members shall not be less than 524.124 kr and shall be paid proportionally according to the work ratio, since contributions have been paid for at least 6 months continuously before his death. - After 4 years of continuous membership, death benefits shall be a maximum of 655,155 kr and shall be paid proportionally based on the work ratio. For each month that passes from the termination of employment to the member's death according to this clause, 19,841 kr is deducted, but not during the first 6 months.
- If a fund member leaves no spouse or children, it is allowed to pay death benefits to the estate in the same way, provided other heirs have handled the disposition of the deceased and it is settled with his assets and liabilities.
2. Because of a member who ceases work due to age/incapacity
- In the case of death of a person who is not on the labour market but was a fund member at the end of employment, the board of the health fund is obliged to pay death benefits to the deceased's heirs.
The condition for payment is that the deceased has been a fund member continuously for the last 5 years before termination due to age/illness etc. was last member of the union or his predecessor. Efling or his predecessor. - Death benefits according to this clause are 100,000 kr.
The application must be accompanied by:
- Summary of the progress of the exchange (available from the County Commissioner, Sýslumaður)
- Power of attorney from other heirs to receive the payment if deposited into the heirs' bank account.
Health promotion - fitness training
Health promotion grants include physical education, sports, swimming, dance, etc. The grant can be used to purchase a bicycle.
The station, school or club must be a legal entity (ID number and permanent address) with permanent facilities and organized work and must employ approved physical education teachers or instructors.
Up to 23,000 ISK is paid every 12 months, up to a maximum of 50% of the cost.
The application must be accompanied by an original invoice showing the member's name and social security number. If there is no confirmation of payment on the invoice, additional confirmation of payment must be submitted, for example from a bank statement or a payment receipt from the invoice issuer.
