There was an exceptionally good atmosphere in Efling´s Community Centre, on the first educational evening of the winter; Between Us, which took place last Thursday. Four Efling women of foreign origin told their story and talked to guests in an informal chat about their experience of settling in Iceland – from getting used to the food culture, finding their place in the labour market, to the impossibility that immigrants often encounter in dealing with service organizations such as Directorate of Immigration. Really informative and fun evening where members had a good opportunity to share experiences, chat, and get to know each other.
Efling´s educational evenings are monthly events of various kinds and will be on the agenda throughout the winter on the first Thursday evening each month.
