The negotiation committee of the Association of Local Authorities and union negotiators in Efling and SGS – Federation of General and Special workers in Iceland have agreed to a changed negotiations schedule. In it, a provisional date for agreement is October 20. Efling and SGS also withdrew their request to have the state mediator oversee talks.On October 1, 2019, Efling and SGS members working for municipalities other than Reykjavík city will get a deposit on the new agreement. For full time workers it will amount to 125,000kr, for other proportional to their work from April 1, 2019 to September 30, 2019. People on parental leave and those working by the hour will also qualify.It is understood by all parties that this deposit is part of the raises to be negotiated, for the abovementioned time period.
