The course is intended for Eflingarföljals who work in the care and assistance, care for or support of the sick, disabled and elderly in private homes or institutions.

The course emphasizes practical knowledge that is useful in daily work in health and social services. Course components include assistance and care with activities of daily living, workplace culture, communication, and self-empowerment.

The professional courses are held in collaboration with Efling and Mímir Lifelong Learning and are a preparation for studies in the social security system. The study is divided into two parts, and professional courses I and II consist of a total of 190 teaching hours. Participants must have completed Professional Course I before they can register for this course.
