Educational talks, meetings and courses
The course is intended for Efling members who work in kindergartens and perform care, support and daily work with children.
The course emphasizes practical knowledge that is useful in preschool work. The components of the course include communication, self-learning, computer gaming, upbringing of preschool children, art activities with children, multicultural preschool work and environmental education.
Teaching period: 14. September to 9. November 2026
Format: Blended learning, taught at Höfðabakki 9 and via distance learning
Length: 70 teaching hours
The training courses are held in cooperation with Efling and Mímis continuing education and are a predecessor of training in the preschool team bridge. The education is two-tiered and consists of Training Course 1 and 2 totaling 140 teaching hours. Participants must complete the previous course before they continue with the latter.
The course is taught in Icelandic. Mímir recommends that participants have Icelandic proficiency at level A2 to B1 according to the European language framework. Those who are unsure of their Icelandic proficiency can take a free placement test at Mímir before applying.
The course is free for Efling members who work for public payers, where the training funds Efling pay the course fee. In the application you must enter the payment code efling15 and click „Add payment code to application“.
