This event is for Efling members who want to improve their CV and job applications, strengthen their job search or explore new opportunities. It is particularly suitable for people who need to apply for jobs in a language other than their first language.

Topics will include:

• Find jobs that match your experience, skills and goals
• Read job advertisements and identify the most important requirements
• Tailor your CV and application to the job
• Highlight your experience, skills and strengths
• Prepare for job interviews and plan the next steps in your job search

The main part of the event will be led by Kristín Erla Þráinsdóttir, Head of Guidance and Validation of Prior Learning at Mímir. She is an education and career counsellor with extensive experience in helping people prepare CVs and cover letters, get ready for job interviews and make decisions about education and career development. She will also briefly introduce the guidance, validation of prior learning and other services available at Mímir that can help people decide on their next steps.

Sigrún Björg Guðmundsdóttir, Efling’s Vocational Education and Training Officer, will open the event with a short overview of how Efling can support members who lose their jobs or want to develop their careers. She will also introduce education grants and education and career development opportunities available to members.

Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and share what kind of education and support they would like Efling to provide in the future.
