Kitchen and cafeteria - vocational course III

Vocational Course III is intended for Efling members who already work in kitchens, canteens, restaurants, bakeries, meat processing or other food production and want to further develop their skills and professional knowledge. The aim of the course is to strengthen participants in their daily work and provide practical knowledge of cooking, service, baking, meat preparation and menu planning.


Vocational Course III places special emphasis on cooking, service, baking and meat, as well as an introduction to menu planning. Icelandic as a Second Language is available for participants who need support with Icelandic, with a focus on job related vocabulary.


Teaching period: March 8 to May 5, 2027

Teaching days: Mondays and Wednesdays

Length: 60 teaching hours

Language: Taught in Icelandic


This vocational course is good preparation for those who want to strengthen their skills in kitchens and canteens or who are considering further studies in the food and catering industries, including training to become a chef or a food technician.


An attendance rate of at least 80% is required to complete the course, and participants who meet this requirement will receive a certificate of completion.

To have the course fee fully covered, participants must have full eligibility for Efling's Vocational Training Fund. Applications will be reviewed and eligible applicants will be contacted to confirm their place once registration opens.
