Kitchen and cafeteria – vocational course III

Vocational Course I is intended for Efling members who currently work in kitchens, canteens, food service, bakeries, meat processing or other food production and want to strengthen their skills and professional knowledge at work. The aim of the course is to support participants in their daily work and give them practical insight into food and catering.


Vocational Course I focuses especially on baking and meat, as well as an introduction to food ingredients. Icelandic as a second language is available for those who need support with Icelandic, with emphasis on vocabulary related to work and study.


Course period: 21 September to 9 November 2026

Course days: Mondays and Wednesdays

Length: 60 hours

Language: Taught in Icelandic


The course is good preparation for those who want to strengthen their skills in kitchens and canteens or explore further studies in food and catering, including studies in cooking or food technology.


80% attendance is required, and participants receive a certificate of recognition at the end of the course. The registration deadline is 14 September 2026. Please note that places are limited and registration does not guarantee a confirmed place on the course. To have the course fee fully covered, members must have full rights in Efling’s vocational training fund. Registrations will be reviewed and applicants will be contacted again to confirm participation.
