Efling’s chair meets with Átak
Sólveig Anna Jónsdóttir, chair of Efling, met today with Jónína Rósa Hjartardóttir, chair of
Átak, the association of people with intellectual disabilities, and Heiða Vigdís Sigfúsdóttir, the association’s managing director.
The meeting covered job opportunities for Átak’s members, among other topics. They also discussed possible cooperation between Efling and Átak to raise awareness of the rights of people with intellectual disabilities in the Icelandic labour market.
Another idea discussed was a special tab on Efling’s website with content in Easy Read, because everyone has the right to information in a language they understand.
Sólveig Anna says the meeting was very useful and enjoyable, and she hopes for good collaboration with Átak.
