Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, the opening of bookings for Efling holiday homes for the first part of the coming winter has had to be postponed. Bookings were originally scheduled to open tomorrow, 18 August, but unfortunately, it is necessary to postpone the opening until Friday, 21 August. Efling apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.

On Friday, Efling members will be able to log in to My Pages on the Efling website and book a holiday home. The rental period in question is from 28 August to 21 December 2026, and both weekend and weekly rentals will be available.

There is generally high demand for Efling’s holiday homes during the winter, particularly for those located close to the Reykjavík capital area. Members are therefore encouraged to book early.

Bookings for holiday homes over the Christmas and New Year period will open on 11 September. The periods available are 22–29 December and 29 December–5 January. During the holiday period, holiday homes can only be rented for one week at a time.

Bookings for the period 5 January–27 May 2027 will open on the morning of 2 November. The application period for Easter will be announced at a later date.

The Food and Culture festival took place at Efling’s community centre on Sunday, September 27, for the fourth time. Efling members invited guests to discover the food traditions of their home countries. A wide variety of dishes prepared by members gave guests the chance to travel around the world through food. These included Filipino-style whole roast pig, Vietnamese spring rolls, Honduran seafood soup and many other dishes. The festival was well attended, with a lively and welcoming atmosphere as Efling members, their families and guests came together to taste food from different countries and learn about the cultures represented within Efling. Efling was honoured to welcome the President of Iceland, Halla Tómasdóttir, and her husband, Björn Skúlason. Food and Culture celebrates the rich diversity of Efling’s membership, and their visit was a valuable opportunity for members to share their cultures, traditions and cuisine with the presidential couple.
